Motorists travelling towards Ogun State experienced prolonged delays on Wednesday following a recovery operation that disrupted traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the traffic congestion built up around the Kara Bridge axis, where emergency responders temporarily restricted vehicular movement to evacuate a crashed vehicle from the roadway.

The operation resulted in a major traffic backlog, with queues of vehicles extending as far as the New Garage area.
Traffic officials said the temporary restriction was necessary to ensure the safe removal of the accident vehicle and prevent further incidents during the recovery exercise.
Commuters travelling towards Ogun State were the worst affected, with many spending several hours in traffic.
However, traffic inbound to Lagos from the Mowe-Ibafo corridor remained largely unaffected, as vehicles continued to move with minimal disruption.
Authorities appealed to motorists to remain patient and comply with directives from traffic management officials deployed to the area, assuring road users that normal traffic flow would resume after the recovery operation.
In a related development, officials confirmed that a containerised truck that earlier fell around the Cater Bridge axis had been successfully removed, restoring free flow of traffic in the area.
Motorists were also advised to exercise caution, obey traffic regulations and remain vigilant while travelling on major highways, especially in areas where emergency recovery operations are ongoing.
