Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 65 Battalion have arrested six suspected oil bunkerers and dismantled an alleged illegal bunkering operation in the Orile General Area of Lagos State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the operation was conducted under the command of Lieutenant Colonel S. Adeojo following intelligence on suspected illegal oil activities in the area.

The Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division, Lieutenant Musa Yahaya, disclosed the development in a statement shared on Wednesday.
He said the troops recovered four trucks, a pumping machine, as well as various pipes and drums believed to have been used for the illegal operation.
The arrested suspects and recovered equipment were subsequently handed over to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for further investigation.
The Army said the operation was carried out as part of efforts to curb economic sabotage and disrupt illegal oil bunkering activities within the 81 Division’s area of responsibility.
The General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, commended the troops for the successful operation and urged them to maintain pressure on individuals involved in economic crimes and other criminal activities.
The Army also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting critical national assets and strengthening security operations across its area of responsibility.
