The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity and recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol during an operation at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge in Mushin.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the command said the arrest followed credible intelligence about alleged cult-related activities in the area, prompting police operatives to deploy a surveillance team to the location.

The operation led to the arrest of Segun Alani, who was allegedly found carrying a bag containing the firearm.
According to the police, the locally made pistol was concealed inside the bag when the suspect was arrested.
“The suspect is currently in Police custody and providing useful information to aid the investigation,” the command said in a statement.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the officers involved for their prompt response and intelligence-driven operation.
Fatai reaffirmed the command’s determination to disrupt cult-related activities and recover illegal firearms across the state.
He also warned cultists and other criminal elements to abandon their activities or face the full force of the law.
The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police to enable prompt intervention through its emergency lines.
