Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that the 2026-27 campaign could be his final season as a professional footballer, saying he wants to end his illustrious career by leaving a lasting legacy.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the 41-year-old Portugal captain made the comments in an interview with Vogue published on Sunday, admitting that he is approaching the final stage of his playing career.

“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo said.
The veteran forward, who has scored more than 950 goals for club and country, has previously indicated that retirement could come within the next year or two.
Ronaldo said he already has plans for life after football, although he acknowledged that stepping away from the sport could leave a significant gap in his daily routine.
He mentioned travelling and playing padel among the activities he hopes to pursue after retiring, adding that he would need several interests to keep himself occupied.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star also reflected on the sacrifices that have defined his career, saying he now wants to enjoy the rewards earned throughout his 25 years in football.
Ronaldo recently married his long-term partner, Georgina Rodriguez, in a private ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
The Portuguese superstar is expected to return to Saudi Arabia to join Al Nassr ahead of the new Saudi Pro League season after Portugal’s World Cup campaign this summer.
With his latest comments, Ronaldo has provided his clearest indication yet that his remarkable playing career could be nearing its conclusion.
