Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has urged leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to unite and mobilise strong support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Oyebanji made the call on Monday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Ado Ekiti, where the party also constituted an eight-member committee to oversee preparations for its forthcoming ward, local government and state congresses.

The committee, headed by APC chieftain Chief Alaba Abejide, is expected to coordinate the congresses scheduled for September.
The governor said the congresses would play a major role in strengthening the party ahead of the December local government elections and the 2027 general elections.
Oyebanji expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a credible process, while urging party leaders to embrace unity and inclusiveness at the grassroots.
He also appealed to APC members in Ekiti to support Tinubu, saying the President had been supportive of the state and that backing his re-election would be an opportunity for the party to reciprocate.
“Once again I appeal to us all that we need to give our best to our President, he has been so good to us, he has been extremely supportive and this is the only opportunity to say thank you,” Oyebanji said.
The governor also linked the forthcoming congresses to his ambition of ensuring that the APC retains power in Ekiti beyond his tenure.
According to him, the party must use the congresses to build a strong structure capable of producing another APC governor when his tenure ends in 2030.
“We have broken the jinx of consecutive tenure; we have to break another jinx when I leave in 2030: another APC person must emerge, and the foundation for that is these congresses,” he said.
Oyebanji noted that the congresses would have implications for the December local government election as well as the presidential, National Assembly and state assembly elections scheduled for 2027.
He praised APC leaders and members for their role in securing victory for the party in the June 20 governorship election, urging them to sustain the unity that contributed to the outcome.
Earlier, APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin, congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and commended party members for their contributions to the victory.

Elesin called for sustained mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, particularly efforts aimed at increasing voter turnout.
Former Governor Segun Oni also urged APC stakeholders to strengthen their mobilisation strategies and deepen grassroots engagement ahead of the presidential election.
Oni stressed the need to ensure that party supporters were adequately mobilised to participate in the election.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Chief of Staff Niyi Adebayo and other APC leaders across the state.
