Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State have declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 is “non-negotiable,” as party stakeholders begin grassroots mobilisation across the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the leaders, who are members of the Action Group within the APC, made the declaration on Monday in Owo during a meeting attended by party elders and political stakeholders.

The gathering focused on mobilising support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the participants expressing confidence that the President would secure overwhelming support in Ondo State.
Speaking at the meeting, the Coordinator of the Action Group in Owo and former Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adekola Olawoye, described Tinubu’s re-election as a national assignment requiring unity and commitment.
Olawoye said the President needed more time and support to consolidate the foundations being laid by his administration.
He urged APC members to work together to deliver Owo and Ondo State for Tinubu in 2027.
The former commissioner also highlighted what he described as some of the administration’s achievements, including increased allocations to states, infrastructure development, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, local government autonomy and social intervention programmes.
According to him, Ondo State has also benefited from the Federal Government through appointments and development initiatives.
Action Group remains active
Olawoye also explained that the Action Group remained part of the progressive political movement that evolved through different political parties, including the Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and eventually the APC.
He said membership of the political family remained open to both younger members and elders, stressing that political participation did not have a retirement age.

Leaders dismiss Aiyedatiwa, Tunji-Ojo rift
The former commissioner also dismissed reports of a political disagreement between Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to Olawoye, both politicians are members of the same party and share the same objective of delivering victory for President Tinubu.
He said the focus should remain on securing votes for the President rather than dwelling on reports of disagreements among APC leaders.
“There is no dispute between Aiyedatiwa and BTO,” he stated, referring to Tunji-Ojo by his initials.
Owo leaders begin grassroots mobilisation
Also speaking at the gathering, former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ajibola Adegoroye, disclosed that political leaders in Owo had begun grassroots mobilisation across the area’s wards.
Adegoroye said Owo had historically played an important role in Ondo politics and that leaders were already mobilising residents ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He said the mobilisation involved almost 15 wards and was aimed at securing massive support for Tinubu.
The APC stakeholders maintained that the party would continue its grassroots engagement ahead of the election, with the aim of delivering strong support for Tinubu across Owo and the wider Ondo State.
