EKO HOT BLOG reports that the dual carriageway passes through Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas, connecting communities along a major agricultural, commercial and oil and gas corridor to Omoku.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Shettima said the Federal Government was deliberately expanding infrastructure and economic opportunities beyond major urban centres to reduce congestion, create jobs and promote balanced development across Nigeria.
The Vice President said the project was consistent with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Shettima, the completed road would make it easier for farmers to transport their produce, reduce post harvest losses and lower logistics costs for businesses operating along the corridor.
He added that the road would create greater economic opportunities for communities in the affected areas.
Shettima described roads as one of the most effective tools for promoting inclusive development, noting that they connect farmers to markets, workers to jobs, students to schools and patients to healthcare facilities.
The Vice President commended Fubara for completing the project, saying it aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Government’s support for state led initiatives that improve security, welfare and economic development.
Shettima also stressed the importance of continuity in governance, saying, “One administration lays a foundation, another strengthens it, and the people remain the final beneficiaries.”
He urged residents and communities along the route to protect the infrastructure from vandalism and other activities that could reduce its lifespan.
Fubara, in his remarks, expressed optimism that the road would improve security and ease the long standing difficulties faced by residents of Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas.
The governor said the poor condition of the road had previously been exploited by criminal elements involved in kidnapping, oil bunkering and other illegal activities.

He expressed confidence that the improved road infrastructure would help end such activities and improve the safety and economic prospects of communities along the corridor.
