EKO HOT BLOG reports that Yari gave the assurance on Sunday shortly after arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja from an overseas trip.
He was received at the airport by APC supporters, associates and other well wishers who gathered to welcome him following his appointment as Director General of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
Speaking with journalists, Yari said the APC remained committed to delivering on the promises it made to Nigerians during the 2023 presidential campaign.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep. Today we have seen him [Bola Ahmed Tinubu] as President, and by God’s grace he shall be the president come 2027,” Yari said.
Yari, who represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the reception by supporters demonstrated their confidence in Tinubu and the APC.
Addressing the crowd at the airport, he thanked them for their support and urged party members to continue backing the President and the ruling party.
“The crowd is here to pray for me and for the success of Mr President. Our party is synonymous with keeping our word. We pray that Almighty Allah will give him (the president) the wisdom to lead this country. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises,” he said.
Yari also expressed confidence that the APC would remain in power beyond Tinubu’s second term, urging members to work towards strengthening the party’s position across the country.
“We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term,” he added.
His comments came as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the party expected to embark on a nationwide campaign to defend the administration’s record and secure Tinubu’s re election.
The appointment of Yari as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council was formally announced on Saturday as part of the party’s preparations for the election.
Yari brings extensive political experience to the campaign structure. He served as governor of Zamfara State and later became chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
With the campaign council taking shape, Yari is expected to coordinate the party’s presidential campaign, mobilise its structures nationwide and communicate the administration’s policies and achievements to voters.
