The Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has disbursed the August edition of its Akinloye Cares Monthly Cash Support Programme to 350 widows and elderly residents across the council.
The initiative is designed to provide financial relief to vulnerable residents, improve their wellbeing and promote an inclusive approach to governance within the council.
Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oladega, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to sustaining welfare programmes that directly impact the lives of residents.
Oladega said the administration would continue to support initiatives that promote dignity and provide meaningful assistance to widows and senior citizens across Eredo LCDA.
The monthly cash support programme, according to the council, reflects the administration’s focus on people-centred governance and responsive leadership, particularly in addressing the needs of vulnerable members of the community.
The council also reiterated its determination to sustain and expand impactful social welfare programmes as part of efforts to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.
