- Senator Abiru distributed food packs to 12,000 households across Lagos East

Thousands of households across the Lagos East Senatorial District have received food support from the Senator representing the district, Senator Tokunbo Mukhail Abiru, in a move aimed at easing the burden on families during the festive season.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the intervention, which covered 12,000 households across the 16 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in the district, brought residents of Epe Local Government, Eredo LCDA, and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA to the Recreation Centre, Epe, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, where a large number of food packs were distributed.

Beneficiaries were drawn from various segments of the community, including religious bodies, ward structures, Community Development Committees (CDCs), youth groups, students, online-nominated beneficiaries, and People Living With Disabilities, among others.
In his welcome address, the Coordinator of the East Consultative Forum (ECF), Epe Local Government, and Commissioner at the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Hon. Segun Jamiu Agbaje, commended Senator Abiru for what he described as a consistent show of empathy and responsive leadership.
“He is a representative who does not want anyone to go hungry. Senator Abiru has continued to show that the welfare of his people comes first,” Agbaje said.
He urged constituents to sustain their support for the Senator, adding prayers for continued blessings upon him and his household.
The prayers were met with loud affirmations from attendees, many of whom attested to the Senator’s performance and reliability in meeting the needs of the people.
Before the commencement of the distribution, the modalities were clearly outlined by the ECF Coordinator for Eredo LCDA and former Executive Chairman, Hon. Omolaja Adelaja, alongside the ECF Coordinator for Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and former Executive Chairman, Hon. Samson Onanuga.
The exercise was carried out by key stakeholders including the ECF Captain for Epe Local Government, Hon. Alilu Gbenle; the Liaison Officer of Senator Abiru’s office in Epe, Hon. Maruf Odunare; Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Giwa Moore; and the President of the Federation of Epe Division Students’ Associations (FEDESA), Comrade Adesanya Ibrahim, with support from security personnel of the United Community Safety (UCS).
Beneficiaries, including market men and women, students, and People Living With Disabilities, expressed deep appreciation to Senator Abiru for what they described as timely and inclusive support.
Many pledged continued loyalty and support, noting that the gesture once again demonstrated the Senator’s commitment to the wellbeing of his constituents.
