The Progressive Governors’ Forum has moved to silence speculations regarding a rift within its ranks, passing a decisive vote of confidence on its chairman, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the meeting, held on Friday at the Imo Lodge, saw 18 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors reaffirming their loyalty to the current leadership following false reports that Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State had been appointed to lead the group.

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, moved the motion for the vote of confidence, emphasizing that there was no justification for the rumors of a leadership shake-up.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who remains the forum’s deputy chairman, described the media reports of division as “unfortunate” and asserted that the group is stronger and more united now than ever before.
He noted that the governors are fully aligned in their support of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its policy direction.
The governors present represented a broad range of states, including Lagos, Borno, Sokoto, Kano, and Kogi, with Taraba and Nasarawa also participating in the deliberations.

In his closing address, Governor Uzodinma dismissed any claims of fragmentation within the APC, stating that the party is focused on the upcoming primaries and the 2027 general elections.
He revealed that the forum’s resolution centers on delivering “necessary social interventions” to improve the lives of Nigerians and ensuring the President’s success in the next polls.
The forum’s leadership maintained that their primary objective remains demonstrating performance at the state level to justify the continued confidence of the electorate.
