- Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, has publicly mocked the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for its “empty” website, which reportedly fails to provide a downloadable manifesto for prospective voters.
- Onanuga challenged the party’s national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, to move beyond “platitudes” and present a concrete governance plan that offers a viable alternative to the current administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
- The Presidency characterized the NDC as a platform for “politically displaced” individuals, following the recent high-profile defections of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso to the party.
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has launched a verbal attack on the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), questioning its readiness for the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Friday, Onanuga revealed that his attempts to study the party’s roadmap for Nigeria were thwarted by a non-functional website.

He noted that while the party invites visitors to read its manifesto, the links consistently return a “No document found” error, suggesting a lack of preparation or substantive policy.
The presidential aide was particularly critical of the party’s recent expansion, describing it as a camp for the “desperate.”
He suggested that the six policy pillars listed on the NDC homepage, which cover topics such as economic transformation and national security, lack depth and resemble the rhetoric previously associated with former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.
According to Onanuga, the opposition has yet to articulate a vision that markedly differentiates itself from the APC’s existing institutional reforms.

Independent verification of the NDC website corroborated Onanuga’s claims, as the “Our Manifesto” page remains devoid of downloadable content despite the presence of promotional headers.
This critique comes at a time when Senator Seriake Dickson is attempting to frame the NDC as a major ideological challenger to the ruling APC.
By highlighting these technical and strategic gaps, the Presidency is clearly seeking to frame the opposition as unorganized and reactive as the 2027 political landscape begins to take shape.
