The endorsement, which took place on April 12, 2026, reflects a collective decision by the apex leadership of the party to promote unity, continuity, and sustained development within the constituency. The leaders cited Balogun’s performance, including constituency projects, empowerment programmes, and legislative contributions, as key reasons for their support.
Political stakeholders present at the meeting included prominent party figures such as Dr. Tola Kasali, Alhaji Bode Oyedele, and Alhaji Tunde Isiak, alongside the APC Chairman in Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Aliasau Eletu.
Also in attendance were members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, including Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola and Hon. Oladele Ajayi, as well as top government functionaries like Hon. Abdul Kabir Ogungbo, Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue to Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
Local government leadership was strongly represented, with the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, and the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Hon. Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, among those present. Several former office holders, party leaders, youth representatives, and women leaders also attended the strategic gathering.
Party leaders noted that the endorsement aligns with the APC’s long-standing tradition of continuity in governance, drawing parallels with the historic endorsement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State in 2002.
They emphasized that continuity in leadership would enable the constituency to attract more developmental projects and deepen the gains already recorded. According to them, legislative experience remains critical in delivering effective representation and securing greater dividends of democracy.
The leaders further called on party members and residents to remain united and committed to peaceful political engagement as the election season approaches.
Observers say the endorsement signals early political alignment within the APC in Ibeju-Lekki, positioning the party for a coordinated and stable outing in the forthcoming primaries and general elections.
