Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, July 29, staged a grand welcome rally for the party’s newly appointed National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the event, which drew a large and jubilant crowd, was organised by party stalwart Hon. Marlin Daniel. It was attended by key members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), signalling strong internal support for Yilwatda’s leadership.
A statement posted on the APC’s official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle confirmed the development. “The new APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Tuesday, received jubilant party supporters in a grand welcome rally organised by party stalwart Hon. Marlin Daniel at the party’s National Secretariat. Other members of the National Working Committee were present,” the post read.
In a separate post, the party announced that members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Naanlong Gapyil Daniel, also paid a solidarity visit to Prof. Yilwatda at the APC headquarters to congratulate him on his recent appointment.
Photos from the event showed a lively atmosphere with supporters waving banners and chanting party slogans, expressing their confidence in the new chairman.



Yilwatda, a former university professor and seasoned technocrat, was recently appointed to lead the party’s national leadership. He is expected to play a key role in repositioning the APC and coordinating its strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
