EKO HOT BLOG reports that the appeal followed protests by some aspirants and party members who stormed the APC Secretariat in Acme, Ogba, Lagos, on Tuesday over allegations of candidate imposition and manipulation of primary election results ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Lagos State Chairman of the APC, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, made the appeal through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Omobola Akingbehin.
In a statement issued in response to the development, the party acknowledged the concerns raised by some members but urged them to channel their grievances through the appropriate internal mechanisms.
The statement also addressed reports circulating on social media regarding the protest at the party secretariat.
“Our attention has been drawn to a video currently circulating on social media regarding the protest at the APC Secretariat.
“We wish to state categorically that the Party Chairman was neither molested nor harassed at any point during the incident. Furthermore, the Chairman was not present at the APC Secretariat at the time the event occurred,” the statement read.
The party emphasized that while members have the constitutional right to express their grievances, such actions must be carried out peacefully and in accordance with the law.
According to the APC, the primary election process has been concluded and mechanisms have already been put in place to address complaints arising from the exercise.
“It is also important to note that the primary election process has been concluded. The party’s internal mechanisms for addressing grievances and resolving issues arising from the exercise are already in place.
“We therefore encourage all aggrieved persons to utilize these established channels in the interest of unity, fairness, and the continued progress of the party,” the statement added.
The party further urged members and stakeholders to exercise restraint and avoid actions capable of creating tension or spreading misinformation.
