In a statement issued on Monday, the APC spokesman in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, said the exercise is part of efforts to strengthen internal democracy, improve data integrity and position the party for future electoral contests.
According to Oladejo, the digital registration will eliminate duplication and impersonation within the party’s membership structure while ensuring that every member is properly documented and verifiable.
He said the initiative would provide equal opportunity for both old and new members to be formally recognised within the party, noting that it would also dismantle gate keeping practices and promote transparency.
Oladejo added that a credible and reliable membership register is critical to conducting transparent congresses, primaries and leadership selection processes.
He explained that the adoption of technology would also help the party appeal to young people, professionals and first time political participants, while enhancing grassroots coordination and electoral preparedness.
The APC spokesman urged members across the state to actively participate in the exercise, describing it as a collective responsibility to the party.

Meanwhile, an APC chieftain in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Babatunde Rufai, commended the party leadership for the initiative.
Speaking with journalists after registering at Ward C, Abule Egba, Rufai described the process as seamless and encouraged party members to take advantage of the registration window.
