EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governor made the announcement on Saturday at the Government House in Bauchi following a closed-door meeting with political stakeholders in the state. The event was attended by the National
Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement, Yusuf Dantalle, who witnessed the declaration.
Before his exit, Mohammed served as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, a role that placed him at the centre of consultations among governors elected on the party’s platform.
His defection also included loyalists aligned with the Tanimu Turaki-led bloc within the PDP structure in Bauchi State, further reshaping the party’s local dynamics.

Sources said the meeting held before the announcement involved key political figures, although details of the discussions were not disclosed.
