Food consumption is a necessity in human life because no one can survive on our planet without it. Because we eat to survive, each meal we consume has its own set of consequences. Every food has its characteristics, whether favourable or bad, that one must be aware of in order to make informed eating decisions.
Beans is a common food, and we all eat it. It is not the best decision to eat it alone, so most people combine it with Carbohydrates like rice, plantain, garri, and even bread. But have you ever wondered what would happen to your system if you eat beans every day?
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at 3 things that would happen if you eat beans on a daily basis.
1. Constipation
If you consume beans in excess, the fibre in them can temporarily slow down your bowels (because it is indigestible) and cause cramping. Typically, the fibre in beans is meant to help prevent constipation by moving food through your intestines.
When a person has less than three bowel motions per week or has difficult bowel movements, they are said to be constipated
2. Lowered risk of diabetes
Diabetes has become a real problem in the world today. The dangerous aspect of it is that it can lead to other diseases like; loss of vision, heart disease, kidney disease, and more.
