“This is more than just money,” he said. “It will help farmers grow their businesses, improve their lives, and strengthen their communities.”
The ten chosen communities—Chiranchi, Diso, Kofar Naisa, Galadanchi, Gwale, Kwankwaso, Garo, Sarigirin, Gobirawa, and Dala—were selected based on strict rules to ensure accountability and commitment to sustainable farming.
To keep things transparent and well-managed, the project set up committees, community business agents, and boards of trustees.

Dr. Hashim highlighted ACReSAL’s achievements, including planting three million trees, restoring 24,865 hectares of land, and rehabilitating 106 kilometers of shelterbelt. Over 1,200 farmers have benefited from tree planting and orchards, and two nurseries producing one million seedlings each year have been revived.
To tackle water shortages, the project built 50 solar-powered boreholes and renovated the Soil and Water Laboratory at Northwest University Kano. They have also provided support to communities in the Falgore Game Reserve.
