The draw for the 2025 to 2026 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 has produced a headline clash, with Manchester City set to face Real Madrid once again.

City And Madrid Renew European Rivalry
Manchester City against Real Madrid has developed into one of the defining rivalries of the modern Champions League era. The upcoming meeting will be the sixth time the clubs have faced each other in seven seasons between 2020 and 2026.
In their last 15 meetings across competitions, City have recorded five wins, four draws and six defeats, with both sides scoring 29 goals each. Recent encounters have swung both ways.
City won both legs of their 2020 Round of 16 tie. Madrid responded in the 2022 semi finals, overturning a first leg deficit to progress after extra time. City claimed a dominant 4 to 0 second leg victory in the 2023 semi finals, while Madrid advanced on penalties in their 2024 quarter final clash.
