According to LASTMA, the truck suddenly veered off its lane while in motion before overturning onto a commercial shuttle bus and crashing into roadside shops, causing serious destruction in the area.
The injured POS operator, who was reportedly attending to customers under a canopy close to the road, suffered severe injuries to both legs after the truck crashed into the shops.
She was rescued by officers attached to the Police Tactical Team and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
LASTMA officials later arrived at the scene to control traffic, secure the area and assist other emergency responders in rescue operations.
The truck driver was arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Authorities also deployed a recovery truck to remove the overturned container truck and the damaged commercial bus from the road.
Despite the magnitude of the accident, traffic officials were able to maintain the flow of vehicles in the area through swift intervention.
“To expedite the restoration of normalcy, a recovery tow truck was immediately deployed to evacuate the fallen articulated vehicle and the damaged mini shuttle bus, while security operatives from the Orile-Iganmu Division of the Nigeria Police Force commenced comprehensive documentation and preliminary investigations into the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident,” LASTMA stated.
Reacting to the incident, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki urged truck owners and logistics companies to always carry out proper mechanical checks on their vehicles before putting them on the road.
He warned that poor maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles, especially faulty braking systems, continues to pose serious danger to lives, public infrastructure and road safety across Lagos.
