When Rhoda neither appeared nor communicated with Sola, he reported the situation to the Ayeso Police Station, citing emotional distress and a sense of fraud.
As the trial unfolded, Sola presented a compelling case, supported by evidence including a mobile money transfer receipt and WhatsApp conversations between him and Rhoda.

The court found Rhoda guilty and ruled in Sola’s favor, ordering her to pay ₦150,000 for damages caused by her actions.
In her ruling, Magistrate Akogun Oludare ordered Rhoda to refund the ₦3,000 transport fare. Additionally, she was directed to pay ₦100,000 for breach of agreement and ₦50,000 as special damages for emotional distress.
The court emphasized that the judgment served as a deterrent to others, warning against similar deceptive behavior in relationships.
