The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), Educational District III, led by Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, has successfully completed the renovation and furnishing of the Inclusive Education Unit at Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) Primary School, Okunraye.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the development follows earlier inspection visits by the committee to schools with Inclusive Education Units across the district, during which the condition of facilities and the learning needs of pupils with special needs were assessed.

The project was carried out with the approval of the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and is aimed at strengthening inclusive education and creating a more supportive learning environment for all learners.
Speaking on the intervention, Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali noted that the initiative was driven by the commitment to ensure equal access to quality education for children with special needs.
“This project is part of our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, has access to a conducive and supportive learning environment,” she said.
The renovated unit was equipped with new desks and tables, a generating set to ensure uninterrupted learning activities, school bags for pupils, and specialized teaching materials, including mathematics and brain development resources designed to enhance learning outcomes for children with special needs.
According to COWLSO, the intervention is part of a broader educational support programme aimed at improving infrastructure and learning conditions across Inclusive Education Units within Educational District III.
Officials further disclosed that work is ongoing in other identified schools within the district, as part of a phased approach to upgrading inclusive learning facilities.
The initiative underscores COWLSO’s continued dedication to inclusive education and its efforts to ensure that no child is left behind in the pursuit of quality learning opportunities across Lagos State.
