EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former governor had challenged what he described as his illegal arrest, detention and the search of his residence last month.
ICPC told the court that its officials were accompanied by personnel of the Nigeria Police Force during the operation. It added that the exercise was witnessed by El Rufai’s wife, Hadiza El Rufai, and his son, Mohammed El Rufai.
In its court filings, the commission urged the court to dismiss the suit, maintaining that its operatives acted on a valid search warrant issued on February 18 and executed on February 19 between 1:37 pm and 3:56 pm at 12 Mambilla Street, Asokoro, Abuja.
According to the agency, items recovered included investor account statements, asset declaration forms, certificates of registration for business entities, corporate compliance records, and client Know Your Customer files.
It also listed documents linked to the African Democratic Congress welfare secretary, records of domestic and foreign loans approved by the Kaduna State House of Assembly from 2015 to 2023, and interim investigation reports involving El Rufai and his associates.
Other materials allegedly seized were Ecobank Nigeria Plc share certificates, land documents, student financial services papers, valuation reports, deeds of assignment, and irrevocable Powers of Attorney for multiple properties.
The commission further listed Afri Venture Capital Company documents, payment mandates, and media and publicity materials from the Office of the former governor among the recovered items.
Electronic devices said to have been recovered included nine flash drives, one memory card, seven hard drives, and multiple laptops such as Apple MacBook Pro and Elumac Book Pro models.

The agency added that mobile phones including Blackberry, Nokia N95, Toshiba, Samsung IDEOS, Google IDEOS, 18 other devices, and a Remarkable tablet with chargers were also seized.
ICPC told the court that all items were properly documented and sealed for forensic analysis.
