EKO HOT BLOG reports that explaining the delay on Monday, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, Bawa Mokwa, said the setback was caused by a technical glitch.
“The delay in the payment of February salaries was due to a technical glitch, which has now been fixed,” Mokwa stated.
He said the issue had been resolved, allowing the office to begin salary payments to affected workers nationwide.
Mokwa assured federal employees that proactive steps had been taken to prevent a recurrence in subsequent salary cycles. He added that the OAGF had put necessary measures in place to strengthen its payment system and ensure workers receive their entitlements without avoidable disruptions.
Although he did not disclose the specific nature of the fault, the spokesman maintained that the payroll system had been stabilised.
The delay had triggered concern among some federal employees who depend on timely salaries to meet financial obligations amid prevailing economic challenges.
In addition to the February salaries, the OAGF disclosed that it had received approval and concluded the process for the payment of one month wage award arrears.
The payment forms part of the three months outstanding wage award owed to federal workers.
Mokwa said, “The Office has received approval and has concluded the process of payment of one month wage award arrears out of the three months outstanding.”
With the latest development, federal workers are expected to begin receiving both their February salaries and the approved portion of the wage award arrears.

The OAGF reiterated its commitment to seamless salary administration and sustaining confidence in the Federal Government payroll system.
