Canadian rapper Drake has placed a $1.5 million bet on Argentina to defeat Spain in Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
The award winning musician, born Aubrey Drake Graham, shared a screenshot of the wager on his Instagram page ahead of the highly anticipated final at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to the betting slip, Drake stands to win more than $5.1 million if Argentina successfully defend their FIFA World Cup title by defeating Spain.
Sharing the screenshot with his millions of followers, the 39 year old wrote, “What’s that saying??? Better luck next time…”
The high value wager has reignited discussions surrounding the so called “Drake curse,” a long running superstition among sports fans who believe that teams or athletes backed by the rapper often go on to lose.
The superstition has followed Drake for several years, with many pointing to a string of unsuccessful bets and public endorsements involving high profile sporting events.
One of the most notable examples came when Drake lost a $1 million bet on former UFC champion Conor McGregor, who was defeated by Max Holloway.
