Eko Hot Blog reports that the revered monarch made the remarks during an exclusive interview, where he spoke extensively on the transformation of Epe Kingdom, his vision for the ancient town and the role of traditional institutions in promoting sustainable development.
Reflecting on Epe’s rapid growth, Oba Animashaun said the division has continued to witness significant development across various sectors, positioning it as one of Lagos State’s emerging economic hubs.
Speaking on the proposed airport project, the royal father disclosed that land has already been allocated for the project and that the original landowners have been fully compensated, paving the way for its eventual development.
“The proposed airport will transform Epe economically by attracting investors, creating employment opportunities, boosting commerce and accelerating infrastructure development across the division,” the monarch said.
Oba Animashaun also reflected on his reign, noting that his administration has remained committed to promoting peace, preserving the rich cultural heritage of Epe Kingdom and supporting initiatives that advance community development.
“Traditional rulers have a responsibility to unite the people, preserve our heritage and work with government and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable development for our communities,” he stated.
The monarch passionately appealed to all sons and daughters of Epe, regardless of political, religious or social differences, to embrace peace and work together for the progress of the kingdom.
“Development can only flourish where there is peace and unity. I urge every indigene of Epe to put the collective interest of our kingdom above personal interests so that we can continue to move forward together,” he said.
