The survivor, identified as Mirabel (@mirab351 on TikTok), shared a video detailing the alleged assault, which she said occurred on Sunday, February 15. According to her account, she had struggled with insomnia and consumed alcohol in the early hours of the morning to help her sleep. She said she heard a knock on her door around 9 a.m. and, believing it was her neighbour, opened it.
“I thought it was my neighbour… immediately I opened the door, I got pushed back, I hit my head on the fridge and passed out,” she recounted.
Mirabel said she later regained consciousness to find a man assaulting her, with cloth forced into her mouth. She alleged that the suspect used a blade to cut her during the attack before fleeing the apartment.
The video has since sparked outrage on social media, with the hashtag #StopRapingWomen trending on X, as users demand justice and stronger protections for women.
According to Mirabel, she subsequently received disturbing messages from a man identified as “Priston,” who allegedly confessed to the attack and made threatening statements. In a follow-up video posted Tuesday, she tearfully revealed that she attempted suicide by ingesting a toxic substance but was rushed to the hospital by a friend.

Reacting to the viral video, the DSVA said it had “taken note of the multiple tags and public concerns” surrounding the case and is working to establish contact with the survivor.
“If anyone has credible information that can help us reach her directly and safely, please contact the Agency by sending us a DM on any of our official social media channels,” the statement read.
The agency reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to supporting survivors of sexual violence, stressing that such cases are treated with confidentiality and urgency.
The DSVA also provided several contact channels for reporting sexual and domestic violence, including phone lines 0813-796-0048 and 08000-333-333, USSD code *6820# (MTN), WhatsApp 0812-893-7058, and its official reporting platform.
