Understanding the urgent need to protect critical infrastructure, the Council Chairmen have established a Joint Security Taskforce.

This unit will be responsible for safeguarding electrical installations and preventing further vandalism, ensuring the sustained delivery of power to affected communities.

Speaking on the initiative, Otunba Wale Raji Anomo, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, expressed gratitude to residents for their patience.

“We understand the hardship that prolonged power outages have caused, and we deeply appreciate the resilience of our people.

The government has stepped in decisively to restore electricity, and we are also taking measures to ensure such incidents do not reoccur,” he stated.

He also urged residents to support the newly formed Joint Security Taskforce by remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities around power installations.

“We must work together to protect our infrastructure. Community involvement is crucial in preventing future vandalism.

With cooperation, we can ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply for all,” Anomo added.

Hon. Monsuru Ismail Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, also emphasized the importance of security and community engagement in maintaining the new power infrastructure.

“Electricity is vital to economic and social development.

This project is not just about restoring light; it is about restoring opportunities for businesses, students, and households. We urge everyone to take ownership in protecting these installations,” he remarked.

Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, Chairman of Epe Local Government, echoed similar sentiments, calling for unity and vigilance among residents.

“We are committed to delivering sustainable solutions, but security is a shared responsibility.

Our people must remain watchful and proactive in ensuring these installations serve their purpose for years to come,” she stated.

With the restoration project now in motion, many residents are hopeful that normalcy will soon return.

A community leader, Chief Ganiyu, shared his excitement about the development.
