Eko Hot Blog reports that the commissioning and handover ceremony is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with activities taking place at Epe Grammar School, Epe, and Temu Community Senior Secondary School, Lagos State.
The Minister is expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the event.
The projects, facilitated by the office of the convener, were executed in response to long-standing requests from school managements, parents, teachers, alumni associations, and host communities, with the aim of improving learning conditions and expanding access to quality education.
At Epe Grammar School, the completed projects include newly constructed 100-bed hostels for both boys and girls, a reconstructed Principal’s Lodge, a fully furnished Corps Members’ Lodge and staff quarters, a mini stadium, a two-kilometre internal road network with drainage and solar street lights, an ICT centre, a rehabilitated and furnished dining hall and kitchen, a rehabilitated legacy classroom block, and a newly refurbished boys’ hostel.
At Temu Community Senior Secondary School, a fully furnished block of twelve classrooms, including offices for the Principal and Vice-Principal, has been provided to support the take-off of the senior secondary school.
Speaking on the initiative, the facilitator described the projects as a strategic investment in the future of young Nigerians, noting that “these interventions are aimed at creating a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially.”
Community stakeholders have also welcomed the development, describing it as a transformative step that will strengthen public education and restore confidence in government-owned schools within the Epe axis.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to attract education stakeholders, government officials, traditional rulers, alumni, parents, and members of the host communities, marking another significant milestone in the advancement of education in Lagos State.
