Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative, which has become a consistent social intervention programme, reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, social protection, and improved living conditions for disadvantaged groups within the community.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adesanya, reiterated the council’s dedication to supporting widows and senior citizens, assuring that the programme will not only continue but expand in scope.
“Our administration remains deeply committed to the welfare of our widows and elderly. This initiative is a reflection of our promise to stand by the most vulnerable in our society,” he said.
He further emphasized the sustainability of the programme, noting that deliberate steps are already being taken to increase the number of beneficiaries in subsequent phases.
“This is a monthly commitment, and we are working towards reaching even more people as we move forward. No one will be left behind,” he added.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the timely support, describing it as a source of relief and encouragement in the face of economic challenges.
“This support gives us hope and shows that the government truly cares about people like us,” one of the beneficiaries said.
