A petition outlining the community’s concerns was submitted to Minister Wike by Dr. Nurain Abayomi Mumuni, representing the estate’s chairman.
The document urges the minister to intervene and assess the situation.
The petition highlights the distress that many residents are experiencing, as they fear the ongoing construction could lead to further damage to their properties.
“Since the commencement of these construction works, we have observed significant and continuous heavy vibrations that have not only caused discomfort but have also raised serious concerns about the structural integrity of our properties,” Mumuni’s letter stated.
One of the key points raised in the petition is the lack of prior notification or consultation with the residents regarding the construction activities. According to the residents, such an important development, which directly affects their homes, should have included input from the community.
The petition expressed disappointment over the apparent disregard for engagement with the people who would be most impacted by the project.
The letter called for an immediate assessment of the construction’s impact on Aso Garden Estate and urged Minister Wike to enforce the necessary precautions and safety regulations.
The petition also requested a meeting between the relevant authorities, construction management, and the residents to address these concerns in detail.

The residents have expressed hope that the FCT Minister will act swiftly to mitigate the effects of the construction and ensure their homes remain safe. They are eagerly awaiting a response and a solution to the mounting issues caused by the ongoing project.
