EKO HOT BLOG reports that this temporary suspension was announced on Wednesday by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). According to a statement issued by the Board Secretary, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), in Abuja, the decision was taken to allow for system upgrades aimed at improving portal capacity and ensuring a seamless recruitment process.
The recruitment portal, which was initially scheduled to go live on July 14 after an earlier delay, is now expected to reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the Board stated.
The CDCFIB disclosed that the suspension affects all four paramilitary agencies under its management: the NSCDC, NIS, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigerian Correctional Service. The statement noted that the application portal, since opening on June 30, has been overwhelmed by a surge in entries, necessitating the current upgrade.
Jibril urged all applicants not to panic but to keep monitoring the portal and be ready to continue their application process once the site is live again. He also warned candidates to disregard unofficial information and rely strictly on the Board’s official updates.

The Board reassured Nigerians that the recruitment process would be transparent, merit-based, and free of charge, while appreciating the patriotic zeal of young Nigerians eager to serve.
