His Director of New Media, Dr. Kola Oredipe, described the claims as baseless, stating:
“Nengi Rebecca Hampson has no personal relationship with Governor Diri. It is regrettable that purveyors of fake news are unhappy with the governor’s rising political profile.”
Oredipe further criticized social media misinformation, calling it a deliberate attempt to distract from the administration’s achievements. He emphasized that while the government was inaugurating a new road in Yenagoa, falsehoods were being spread online.
“This is a distraction, and some of us are very justified in the many reasons offered to regulate the use of various social media platforms,” the Governor’s aide added.
