The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has approved the extension of the ongoing Lakowe–Losoro Access Road project from the initially planned 400 meters to 800 meters.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the expansion aims to improve community accessibility, enhance drainage, and ensure long-term road durability.
During an inspection visit on Thursday, Hon. Olowa expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far, including the completion of excavation, road alignment, and reinforcement works along the extended corridor.
He explained that the decision to extend the project is a proactive measure to ensure the access road connects fully to the Lagasa Primary Canal, thereby preventing erosion and enhancing water flow during heavy rainfall.

“This extension is not just about length but about quality and sustainability. We are ensuring that the road serves residents better, improves drainage, and boosts mobility and economic activities within the Lakowe–Losoro axis,” Hon. Olowa stated.
The council boss reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development that meets the growing needs of residents, adding that the project aligns with his broader vision of building a more connected and prosperous Ibeju-Lekki.
Residents of the area have commended the extension, describing it as a timely intervention that will ease movement, promote business growth, and enhance property value.
