- Monthly environmental sanitation resumes in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA starting April 25, 2026

Residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area have been officially notified of the resumption of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, in line with the directive of the Lagos State Government.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement was made under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Wale Raji Anomo, reaffirming the council’s commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health across the LCDA.
According to the notice, the sanitation exercise will take place every last Saturday of the month, beginning from Saturday, April 25, 2026, between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Residents have been strongly encouraged to actively participate in the exercise by maintaining cleanliness within their surroundings and contributing to a healthier environment.
Key activities expected during the sanitation period include:
Cleaning of residential and commercial premises
Clearing of drainage systems to prevent flooding
Proper disposal of waste in designated areas
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, the Supervisor for Environment, Felix Rosanje, emphasized that the exercise is aimed at promoting a clean, safe, and healthy environment across all communities within the LCDA.
He further called on all stakeholders, including community leaders, market operators, transport unions, and residents, to fully comply and support the exercise as a collective civic responsibility.
The Public Affairs Unit of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, which announced the development, reiterated that sustained environmental sanitation is key to preventing disease outbreaks and enhancing the overall quality of life.
Residents are therefore urged to cooperate with relevant authorities and ensure full participation, as the council works towards building a cleaner and more sustainable Ikosi-Ejinrin community.
