EKO HOT BLOG reports that this was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by Sam Olumekun, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee.
Olumekun revealed that the commission had facilitated the collection of PVCs for five days across all 203 wards in Ondo State, as part of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The collected PVCs include those for new registrants as well as applicants who requested transfers or replacements of lost or damaged cards.
According to the statement, 55,859 PVCs were successfully collected, which represents 62.2% of the 89,777 cards made available during this collection window.
This marks the highest percentage of PVCs collected within five days in Ondo State since the commission introduced CVR in 2015.
INEC further announced that PVC collection would now be transferred to its local government offices across the state.
Voters who are yet to collect their cards are urged to visit their respective local government offices from Wednesday, October 23 to Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The collection hours will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, including weekends.
The commission reminded voters that PVCs must be collected in person, and no individual is allowed to collect a card on behalf of someone else. Detailed information on the collection locations and local government offices in Ondo State has been made available on INEC’s website and social media platforms for public access.
