Trabzonspor have suffered a major injury setback ahead of their Turkish Super Lig clash with Alanyaspor, with top scorer Paul Onuachu ruled out of the encounter.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Onuachu has been one of the standout performers in the Turkish Super Lig this season, scoring 24 goals in 28 appearances and contributing 40 per cent of Trabzonspor’s total league goals.
The club said the injury occurred during a training session at the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities under the supervision of head coach Fatih Tekke.
“During today’s training session, our player Paul Onuachu felt pain and stiffness in the upper front muscle group of his left thigh,” the club stated.
“Following an initial assessment, a muscle injury is suspected, and he has therefore been removed from the squad for the Corendon Alanyaspor match. Treatment has been commenced by our medical team.”
The absence of the striker represents a significant blow to Trabzonspor’s attacking options, given his consistent goal scoring form this season.

However, there was a boost for the team as fellow Nigerians Anthony Nwakaeme and Chibuike Nwaiwu were included in the travelling squad and could feature in the match.
The Trabzonspor versus Alanyaspor fixture is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
