JUST IN: JAMB Officially Announces Schedule, Details For 2025 UTME
- JAMB begins UTME registration January 31, closes March 5, 2025.
- Mock-UTME is April 5; main UTME runs April 25–May 5.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the official timetable for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement on Monday, detailing key dates and requirements for candidates.
The sale of UTME application forms will begin on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. Direct Entry (DE) application documents and e-PIN vending will follow, starting from March 10, 2025, and ending on April 7, 2025.
The Mock-UTME is scheduled for April 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place from April 25, 2025, to May 5, 2025.
Candidates registering for the UTME with the mock exam will pay a total of ₦8,200, while those opting for only the UTME will pay ₦7,200. A breakdown of the fees includes:
- ₦3,500 for the application fee
- ₦1,000 for the reading text
- ₦700 for the CBT Centre registration service charge
- ₦1,500 for the CBT UTME service charge
- ₦1,500 for the CBT mock service charge (optional)
- ₦500 for bank charges
The board also introduced a special mock UTME for candidates under the age of 16, aimed at helping younger students evaluate their academic readiness. This mock exam is not tied to admission eligibility.
To qualify for admission into tertiary institutions, candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025. However, Prof. Oloyede highlighted an exception for outstanding candidates under the age of 15, who may be considered for admission if they score a minimum of 280 in the UTME and demonstrate exceptional academic performance in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME examinations.
