The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) has arrested 396 beggars as part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing efforts to improve environmental sanitation, maintain public order and curb illegal activities across the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed that the exercise forms part of the government’s sustained campaign to create a cleaner, safer and more secure Lagos.

According to Wahab, the arrested individuals will be profiled, provided with appropriate assistance where necessary and handed over to the relevant authorities to facilitate their safe return to their respective states.

He said the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to preserving public order, protecting the environment and ensuring that Lagos remains a safe and orderly place for residents and visitors.
The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue enforcement operations aimed at improving sanitation and addressing activities that undermine the state’s environmental and public safety objectives.
