The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that a 14-year-old girl in Katsina State masterminded the abduction of her 4-year-old sister with the help of three accomplices, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the incident came to light after Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters reported the case to the Katsina State Police Command on February 20, 2025.

The teenager reportedly conspired with individuals aged 25, 19, and 16 to carry out the abduction. In a surprising twist, she stayed hidden with the younger child for four months to create the illusion that both girls had been kidnapped.
“She went into hiding along with the 4-year-old and only reappeared after four months. During interrogation, she admitted to planning the abduction,” the police statement read.
All those involved have been arrested, and the younger child was found safe and has since been reunited with her family, Adejobi confirmed.
In a separate incident in Nasarawa State, police officers apprehended a suspected arms smuggler along the Giza–Kadarko Road in Keana Local Government Area after receiving credible intelligence.
The suspect, riding an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush upon noticing police presence. A search of the bike uncovered an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 45 rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition.
“These operations demonstrate the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to tackling crime through intelligence-driven efforts and cooperation with the public,” Adejobi stated.
He also noted that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, continues to encourage citizens to obey the law and share reliable information with law enforcement agencies.
