As part of efforts to deepen the impact of the annual Kayokayo Festival in Epe Kingdom, the organizing committee has introduced a special street feeding initiative aimed at showing love and compassion to vulnerable members of the community.
Ekohotblog reports that this year’s festival, which is being celebrated in honour of the late Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, comes with renewed purpose and innovation.

Speaking at the press conference held on July 18, 2025, at the 1st Epe Central Mosque, Oke Balogun, the Chairman of the Kayokayo Advisory Board, Alhaji Alade-Soliu Okulu, highlighted the social responsibility embedded in the new approach.
“Since the festival champions feeding people to the point of satisfaction,” he said, “the Kayokayo Committee, led by its Coordinator, Barrister Bayo Okulu, has come up with a new innovation,Street Feeding, that will take place on Thursday 24th, at Epe Ogunmodede Club.”
Alhaji Okulu explained that this initiative is designed to reach people directly where they are, especially those who may not be able to attend the central events.
“With this innovation, people will be provided with delicious meals across streets within the community to the point of satisfaction,” he stated. “This is about love, inclusion, and the true spirit of Kayokayo, no one should be left out.”
According to the committee, the meals will be distributed throughout the community, ensuring that the older people, less privileged, and those in need receive not just food, but a sense of belonging and joy during the celebration.
“We’re not just celebrating culture and faith,” one committee member added “we are honouring humanity.”
