Participants will receive a monthly stipend, professional mentorship, and training focused on soft skills and workplace etiquette to improve their chances of securing employment.

According to the statement, the Graduate Internship Placement Programme aims to provide fresh graduates with real-world experience, continuous mentorship, and essential skills that employers value.
“Are you a recent graduate? This is an opportunity to take the next step in your career,” the post said. “Registration for the Lagos State Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP) is now open. Successful applicants will gain hands-on experience in their field, receive a stipend funded by Lagos State, and develop key soft skills and professional etiquette that employers look for.
Participants will also benefit from ongoing mentorship and guidance throughout the programme.”
The government added that applications are open only to new applicants and will close on April 10, 2026.
The programme is designed to help participants strengthen both their technical knowledge and professional skills, preparing them for the demands of the workplace.

Officials described the initiative as part of the state’s broader strategy to tackle graduate unemployment and develop a workforce equipped with relevant skills.
“We want participants to finish the programme with more than a certificate,” the statement noted. “They should leave with practical experience, stronger soft skills, and the confidence to succeed in professional environments.”
Interested graduates have been encouraged to apply before the deadline to benefit from the internship opportunity, mentorship, and career development support offered through the GIPP.
