A solemn remembrance marked five decades since the death of former Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Muhammed (GCFR), as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu joined other dignitaries at a wreath-laying ceremony held on Friday in Ikoyi.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the commemorative event took place at the late general’s cenotaph, where floral tributes were laid in honour of his life, leadership, and enduring legacy in Nigeria’s history.

Among those in attendance were Senator Daisy Danjuma, wife of retired Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma; Dr. Aisha Muhammed Oyebode, daughter of the late leader and Chief Executive Officer of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation; her husband, Gbenga Oyebode; and the Chairman of Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area, Hon. Bola Oladunjoye. Other government officials and invited guests were also present.
