Lagos Seizes Alcoholic Drinks Worth N2m During Raids
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government has confiscated alcoholic drinks worth N2 million in parts of the state.
The Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI, made the seizures during the week as “part of efforts to rid garages, parks, roadsides in Lagos from illegal liquor sales and consumption by motorists and drivers.”

The agency’s Corps Marshal, CP Gbemisola Akinpelu (retd) disclosed that the raids will remain a continuous exercise due to the displeasure expressed by the state government at the rate alcoholic drinks are sold in garages, motor parks, roadsides and in traffic.
According to a statement issued by LAGESC spokesperson, Ajayi Lukman, on Saturday, Akinpelu further revealed that the negative trend poses grave danger to the psychological, mental and healthy well-being of drivers, motorists and pedestrians.
She highlighted that the confiscated liquor drinks will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for destruction which will be witnessed by LAGESC and journalists.
