EKO HOT BLOG reports that for more development, the Lagos State Government has stated that it will collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society organizations (CSOs).

Mr. Samuel Egube, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, stated this at the Development Partners Initiative/NGO Summit 2022, which was held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja.

He claimed that the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration valued NGOs and CSOs as critical components of development, and that its goal was to bring NGOs and CSOs from across the state together to drive their programs and projects through the “THEMES” agenda.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Adebayo Sodade, said over 10 million NGOs were in the world, noting that several thousands of them were in Nigeria.

Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ibrahim Obajomo, said the summit was an avenue to bring together grassroots NGOs and form a consortium for better networking opportunities to partner local and international NGOs.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Development Partnerships and Economic Planning, Miss Aisha Agbaje, said the summit would enable people to know what the government did in governance, adding that many people didn’t know government activities.
