A new commercial development, Irele Tower, has opened within the Lagos Free Trade Zone, marking a significant boost to investment along the fast-growing Lekki corridor.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the nine-storey building delivers approximately 12,000 square metres of office and retail space, positioning the zone to meet increasing demand from both local and international firms seeking proximity to port, logistics, and industrial infrastructure.

Designed as an EDGE-certified facility by the International Finance Corporation, the tower incorporates resource-efficient features aimed at reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
According to project details, the building is engineered to use about 26 per cent less energy and 46 per cent less water compared to conventional structures, while also improving indoor environmental quality for occupants.
Speaking on the development, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the project reflects the state’s infrastructure-driven growth strategy and its commitment to strengthening Lagos as a leading investment destination.
He noted that the Lagos Free Trade Zone continues to play a key role in driving industrialisation, job creation, and economic diversification.
Managing Director of the LFTZ Company, Adesuwa Ladoja, said the project aligns with the zone’s vision of creating an integrated business environment built on strong infrastructure, strategic location, and efficient logistics.

She added that demand for high-quality and efficient workspace has grown alongside rising investor interest in the Lekki axis.
Also speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank, Yemisi Edun, said the bank’s early support for the project reflects confidence in the long-term potential of the zone.
She noted that Irele Tower demonstrates the benefits of coordinated financing and development, adding that FCMB remains positioned to support further growth following its recapitalisation.
