A 37-year-old man, Opeyemi Olaniyan, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old man, Ayomide Oyekunle, to death during a fight at a beer parlour in Agbado.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident reportedly occurred following a dispute over a N25,000 debt.

According to police reports, the suspect had gone to demand the money owed to him when an argument broke out at the premises. The situation escalated after he allegedly became violent, broke a bottle, and threatened those present.
In the ensuing confrontation, Olaniyan was said to have stabbed Oyekunle in the hand and stomach with the broken bottle.
The victim was immediately rushed to Strong Tower Hospital in Giwa Oke Aro for treatment but later died from his injuries.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the case was reported at the Agbado Division by the owner of the beer parlour.

“On Saturday at about 11:30 pm, one Oriade Kehinde reported that Opeyemi Olaniyan came to demand the sum of N25,000 owed to him. When he did not get an immediate response, he became violent, broke a bottle, and threatened to stab anyone within the premises,” Babaseyi said.
He added that during efforts to restrain the suspect, he attacked the victim.
“The victim was rushed to hospital but later died while receiving treatment. The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody for investigation,” he stated.
The police spokesperson also disclosed that the body of the deceased has been deposited at Life Channel Morgue in Olambe for autopsy.
He further noted that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID) in Abeokuta for further investigation and possible prosecution.
