A man identified simply as Success has reportedly died after allegedly being tortured by operatives of the Ogun State security outfit, So-Safe Corps, in the Oju-Ore area of Ota.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident, which has sparked outrage within the community, was said to have occurred after a domestic dispute involving the deceased, his mother and younger brother on Saturday.

According to reports circulating on social media, Success allegedly sustained a head injury during the altercation. Following the incident, his mother reportedly sought the intervention of So-Safe operatives to help calm the situation.
However, residents alleged that instead of handing him over to the police, some officers took Success to an uncompleted building along the Coca-Cola Road axis, where he was allegedly subjected to severe physical assault.
Eyewitness accounts shared online claimed the victim was beaten repeatedly and later succumbed to his injuries.
A community member, Temitope Adeniyi, alleged that the security operatives beat Success to death after taking him away from the scene of the family dispute.
Reacting to the incident, the spokesperson for the So-Safe Corps, Adekunle Adegbuyi, confirmed that officers linked to the matter had been handed over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution.
He condemned the actions of the operatives, describing their conduct as a violation of the corps’ standard operating procedures.
According to him, the officers acted on their own and failed to follow established protocols after responding to the distress call.
“The mother called us to intervene, and some of our ad-hoc staff went. They were expected to report back, but unfortunately they took the law into their own hands. Once the matter came to our attention, the suspects were immediately handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for investigation,” he said.
Adegbuyi added that the Commandant of the corps, Soji Ganzalo, has consistently warned personnel against human rights violations and involvement in civil matters beyond their mandate.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ogun State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The development comes amid growing concerns over allegations of excessive force and human rights abuses by security personnel across the country, with residents calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased.
