Among those present were PRP National Chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi, PRP Publicity Secretary Muhammed Ishaq, and former APC National Vice Chairman (North) Salihu Lukman, alongside other notable political actors.
Baba-Ahmed, who recently took over leadership of the PRP, had stepped down earlier in April 2025 from his role as Special Adviser on Political Matters to Vice President Kashim Shettima, a decision widely interpreted as his re-entry into active politics.

While no official statement was released after the talks, a senior insider disclosed that the PRP used the meeting to reaffirm its support for the ADC leadership amid its dispute with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other government institutions.
According to the source, the PRP strongly criticised what it described as anti-democratic actions targeting the ADC, warning that such developments could weaken democratic stability in the country.
In response, Mark reportedly expressed appreciation for the backing, noting that the PRP has been the only political party to openly support the ADC during the crisis. He also voiced optimism that both parties would continue to maintain a cooperative relationship in the broader national interest.
The meeting comes as tensions within the ADC continue to intensify, particularly following the rise of a new faction that recently endorsed INEC’s decision to withdraw recognition from the Mark-led leadership.
At a press briefing in Abuja, the faction supported the electoral body’s stance, citing a Court of Appeal ruling. It also rejected the leadership claim

of Nafiu Bala Gombe, arguing that he did not emerge through any recognised or credible process.
The group further accused former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu of attempting to transfer the party’s structure to individuals allegedly aligned with Mark but not formally recognised as members.
Made up largely of some state chairmen, the faction said it convened what it described as a legitimate National Executive Committee meeting at the Abuja office of Dumebi Kachikwu, where it announced decisions including the formation of a new leadership structure.
